Today we visited the Pearl Harbor National Historic Site. Joanne and I were there 25 years ago and it is still a powerful place. We took a tour of the USS Bowfin, a decomissioned diesel submarine with a distinguished naval record. It was incredible to see how 40 men worked and lived in such a crampt, claustrophic environment for months at a time.
We toured the museum and of course we took the short boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. There are now only 6 living Pearl Harbor vets.
We had our first bit of rain today. Nothing major and certainly no comparison to the weather at home!

The USS Missouri -Mighty Mo - where the second world war came to its final conclusion.

Sounds like you're having a great time - bet Scott and Shannon are really enjoying it. We woke up to maybe 3 or 4 inches of snow yesterday, but luckily it was light, Uncle David just pushed it, didn't need the snowblower - he's out there now cleaning up the snow we had last night. It's 10.00 a.m. and the temperature is right on 0F !! The only good thing is that it is a bright and sunny day. The Leafs won the hockey classic against Detroit in overtime! Continue to have fun. Enjoying the blogs!
